ATHLONE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - EDMONTON, AB

I have never felt so discriminated against until I sent my two aboriginal children to this school. First my son, who is in grade 4, was made to sit in the back of the classroom, desk facing the wall, segregated from the other kids for two months! 3 weeks after school started. My son said the teacher was nice to everyone except him. He was constantly sitting in the hall by himself! Then after I confront the teacher about this, they call child and family services on me, claiming I abuse my children and that we drink and do drugs at our home, even after my older son told them that was a lie. My kids get apprehended from the school, and Edmonton public school policy states that if a child is apprehended from the school, they must contact the guardian and tell them what happened and give us the social workers name and number, WHICH THEY DIDNT DO! my kids just never came home after school! We were panicking, looking for my kids, driving around, and finally asked a kid who was leaving the school late if he seen our boys! He was the one that told us where they were! There was an investigation which found nothing against us and my boys returned home! I registered them in another school because there was no way I would send them back to athlone after what they did to us, and this racist principal calls the new school and tells the principal there EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED AND SAID SHE WAS WORRIED THAT I DIDNT HAVE CUSTODY OF MY KIDS AND I SHOULDNT BE SENDING THEM THERE! IF SHE WAS SO WORRIED SHE COULD OF CALLED THE SOCIAL WORKER AND ASKED HER HERSELF! We had to pull them out and now we are in the process of finding yet another school to put them into, because I don't want this negative attention following us around. This principal is racist, and has no professionalism . She told this other principal our private personal information which is a total breech of confidentiality and caused us pain, and more troubles. If you value your sanity, you will keep your kids away from this school! Especially if your native! No wonder why there is only 2 other native kids in this whole school! We will be taking legal action with the hope that no other family will ever have to go through the trouble we did. This has caused me physical pain as I am 37 weeks pregnant and have had severe high blood pressure since this whole thing started 3 weeks ago!
