My daughter was at Yorktown Montessori for 3
years (age 3 - 6). The credit for the
transformation from a toddler to a confident,
independent, smart and caring 6 year old in
most parts goes to Yorktown. The staff is
highly dedicated and provides the individual
attention that “your” child needs. A wide
variety of things / concepts in Math,
English, Science, Geography, French etc. are
introduced to the kids. It is because of the
teaching at Yorktown that my daughter (who
will be going to grade 1 in September) can
already read Grade 1 – 2 books with ease
and solve Grade 1 Math problems. In addition
to the academics, the extra-curricular
activities really make the children
all-rounders. My most favourite part are the
semi-annual concerts in which ALL the
students participate. It’s a true joy to
see the hard-work that the staff and children
put towards it and its truly proud to see
your child on perform on stage.
Another aspect that I really appreciated was
- having a range of 3 – 6 years old in the
same classroom, I found is highly beneficial
both to the younger and older kids equally.
While the younger kids get an opportunity to
learn from the older classmates, the older
one’s get to mentor the younger ones and in
the process develop leadership skills and
enhance communication skills.
I highly recommend Yorktown Montessori for an
all-rounded development and excellent staff
to prospective parents.
Our four year old son and daughter have been attending Yorktown Montessori School for a couple years now and we couldn’t be happier. The principal and teachers are genuinely really nice and caring people and our kids have been learning tons. We had visited several other daycares and Montessori schools in the North York / Willowdale area before choosing Yorktown. For us, it ultimately came down to the breadth of the Yorktown program, which in addition to the usual curriculum also offers French, Mandarin, and dance. Our kids have really enjoyed being there and we highly recommend the school to parents looking for a fun, caring and educational environment for their kids.
Two of my kids attend Yorktown and it is a wonderful Montessori school focused on academics with a good balance of physical activity, music, dance and French and Mandarin language education. The teachers are excellent and the small class sizes greatly contribute to creating a rich learning environment for my kids who have thrived there. I highly recommend this school!
It is one of the best education Institute. I see major transition in my child who has become so much independent, confident and academically developed. They have great qualified teachers who guide children so well. As a working mom I am so happy and feel relieved at work place since my child is happy and comfortable here. Principle is so polite and nice lady who also gives suggestions to improve my child's growth. I would recommend this great Montessori school to other parent
Excellent school! Our daughter attended it
since she was two and half and just graduated
this month. We sincerely appreciate the
education and care provided. Also we were
amazed by the improvement of the child! To
summarize. Yorktown has:
1. Highly professional teachers and staff who
truly spent the time and effort to build the
bonding with the child and parents.
2. Tailored education based on their
understanding of the child.
The teachers worked closely with us so that
we all understand the strength, weakness and
issues of the child. Due to our daughter's
earlier communication issue, we had so many
meetings with different types of
professionals and special trainers. The
teachers even incorporated suggestions from
the special trainers into the daily teaching
activities to help our daughter.
3. Emphasis on leadership, independence,
responsibility and confidence.
We saw dramatic change/improvement of our
daughter in the last 3 years, especially the
last year! The child came out of her shell
and blossomed! This is not only due to the
continuous effort of the school but also due
to the fact that the 3rd year of the
Montessori program is critical. For those of
you who are familiar with Montessori program,
it's grouped by children across three years.
In the 3rd year, the student becomes the
'senior' one in the class and is given lots
of opportunity to help and lead the younger
classmates. So for those of you who have sent
your child to Montessori for the first two
years, please don't miss the 3rd year since
it is the time to harvest!!
Great job Yorktown!
