MODERN NAILS - CALGARY, AB

I have been getting my nails done for years and have never had them done so badly. Right off the bat, there was a bad impression of the place, as I watched the girl who was doing my nails use the same, unclean tools she had just used on a previous client. I asked for a regular acrylic fill with black gel overlay. The fill and shaping of my nails was less than subpar, but I accepted it. After over an hour spent on just the shaping (should have had my entire nails completed in that time span) they moved on to colour. I received 5 coats of "black" paint only for it to still be see-through. I asked three times for them to make the colour darker, as well as to fix numerous mistakes where it had not been painted, was uneven, was see-through, and where there was colour on my skin. Then, when they asked me to be drying them I asked why they were not in the proper UV light machine, and only in a heated one. They did not understand; they didn't even know what the correct way to cure nails was. By this time I had been in the shop for two hours, a completely outrageous amount of time for what I was getting done. At the time of checkout, I asked to speak to a manager but to no avail. I spoke to the one woman about all the things wrong with my nails and the time issue, she was not helpful. A second lady came up, whom I tried explaining everything to. I was ignored by her. She refused to look at my nails and repeated over and over "they are fine, I did a good job for two hours, they are fine, nothing wrong". I asked again to speak to a manager or owner or for their contact information and was told that they were away and had no contact information. The lady then proceeded to say she would call security if I didn't just pay. Which was very offensive to me, considering I was simply trying to have someone notice that what I received was unacceptable. Yet a third lady proceeded to the front to talk to me. I was hoping she would at least acknowledge that there was a problem. She was calmer and looked at my nails but still chose to see no issue and accused me of having no money. I let them know I did have money and would pay, but that I wanted the issue acknowledged and that I didn't think it was worth the money they asked. I ended paying $30.00 for the nails. The sign in the store says that what I was having done was $32.00. I do not believe the $2.00 discount warranted any resolve for my issue, as they still refused to accept that there was a problem. She offered me the chance to sit and redo them and pay $40.00 but after having been treated so badly and have them done so badly, why would I was that option. Again, I asked for the managements information and she said just to call the store, but that they are away and don't know when they will be back and cannot be contacted otherwise.
